About Our Treatments

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage is a good choice for those who are new to massage and those looking for a relaxing way to de-stress. This is also the massage we use to address post acute injury care following a recent accident or pain caused from an injury years ago, to help a client prepare for or recover from surgery, or to release toxins and aid the over active nerves following an emotionally traumatic experience.

Our therapists utilize a wide range modalities and techniques to ensure that they are giving you a treatment that addresses your health concerns and wellness goals. Massage is preventative care, helping you maintain health and well-being. And, integrating massage into your other health and wellness practices can enhance that work and speed up the healing process.

If you are scheduling a massage to deal with a health issue, please first talk to your doctor to see how they can integrate massage into your health plan.

TMJS Massage

Specialized trigger point massage to ease jaw pain from Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome & other myofacial issues

One of Pete Gurule's specialties is Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome Massage. He is skilled at treating the temporalis and masseter muscles, which are the primary muscles used in chewing. Working with a therapist skilled in this area is important, because the structure of the masseter is different from most muscles, with the fibers converging diagonally on several internal tendons in a feather-like pattern, and because the masseter is one of the most common trigger points on the human body. This treatment will help you release tension in your face, relieving many issues associated with TMJ Syndrome.

Prenatal Massage

Our prenatal massage focuses on the special needs of the ever-changing body during pregnancy. Our therapists consider both the current needs of an expecting mother as well as the changes and issues that can be expected throughout a pregnancy. This is a gentle massage, using techniques similar to our Nurturing Therapeutic Massage . Our therapists are careful of how to position you safely and prevent strain to the uterine ligaments. They are also able to watch for symptoms of blood clots and varicose veins.

In addition to the physical impact of prenatal massage, our treatment gives you emotional support and nurturing, provided by nonsexual human touch and energy.

Speak with your primary health care provider prior to receiving a massage if you have what is considered a high-risk pregnancy, if you had a previous pre-term labor, if you recently gave birth, or if you recently experienced: bleeding, pre-term contractions, preeclampsia, pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH), severe swelling, high blood pressure, or sudden, severe headaches.
